phyiscs problem about interfernce of two radio waves?

Two coherent sources of radio waves, A and B, are 5.00 meters apart. Each source emits waves with wavelength 6.00 meters. Consider points along the line connecting the two sources.Finda) At what distance from source A is there constructive interference between points A and B? (answer in meter)b)At what distances from source A is there destructive interference between points A and B? [ Note that there will be two separate interference fringes between point A and point B. Enter your answers in ascending order separated by a comma.] Thanks for your time and effort 🙂

There will be constructive interference where the difference between the distance covered by waves emanating from each source is equal to a whole number of wavelengths. In this case, since the distance between both sources is less than a single wavelength, the only possible point along the AB line is right between the two sources, at 2.5 m from A. At that point, waves from A have covered 2.5 m, and so have waves from B. The difference is 2.5-2.5=0, which is a whole number of wavelength. There will be destructive interference where the difference between the distance covered by waves is equal to a half number of wavlengths (...-1/2, 1/2, 3/2, 5/2...). Here, 3/2 wavelengths puts us beyond point B, so the two possibilities are -1/2 and 1/2. We must thus find the distance where the wave coming from A had covered a distance 3.0 m longer (or shorther) than that coming from B.At 1.0 m from A, the wave coming from A had covered 1m, and the one coming from B has covered 4m. The difference is -3m = -1/2 wavelength. By symetry, the other point of destructive interference will be placed 1.0 m away from B, or 4.0 m from A.... Show More

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/avrDXEASY!!!!!!!!!!! We all know that light and radio waves have the same speed (Hawking, I think, said that waves are a kind of lights, or lights a kind of waves ...). So If a star is 8mn lights far from the earth, waves will take 8 mn to comes to it ! (See NASA website ...) Hey, don't forget giving me my ten points !... Show More
