On a modified atwood machine (such as this one: http://spiff.rit.edu/classes/phys311/workshops/w5b… suppose the hanging mass is m2 = 254 g and the mass of the cart is m1 = 1205 g. Assume there is no friction anywhere in the system, and the system starts at rest. Use g = 9.81 m/s2. a) Find the acceleration of the system. m/s2 b) Find the tension in the string. N c) If the track has length L = 2.02 m, find vf, the speed of the cart just before it hits the barrier. m/si know you have to use Vf^2= Vi^2 + 2ad for the third question, but how do you find the answer to questions a and b?
