Should I get dermal piercings on my face?

I have a passion for piercings and currently have several that I love. This past summer, the girl who pierced my lip introduced me to the idea of dermal piercings, and I've been considering them ever since. Initially, I thought about getting three dermals down my cleavage, but lately, I've been leaning towards something more noticeable and dramatic. I'm really interested in getting 6 to 8 dermals in a squiggly or swirly design by my eyebrow on the side of my face.

However, after watching some videos about dermal piercings, I started to feel a bit nervous. In one video, the girl was bleeding quite a bit, and in others, people seemed to be in a lot of pain. While I believe I can handle pain fairly well, I’m curious about how much it really hurts to get dermal piercings on the face. Additionally, would it be advisable to get all of them done at once, or should I consider starting with just a couple?

if you want it, go for it! just know that one day you’ll want to take them out and depending on the method your piercer used there may be slight to very noticeable scars. i’ve seen someone with just one on the side/under the eye like a teardrop and those are cute!

my piercer used anchors that did not have have holes in the base, so the tissue could not attatch itself, therefore it is MUCH easier to take out. i took one of my microdermals out myself and it didn’t hurt, didn’t bleed at all, and left a very small scar (barely noticeable). even without the holes in the base, it is very sturdy. they are in my neck and i sleep on them, put clothes and jewelry over them, all the normal stuff and i haven’t had one problem.

when i got them done, it did hurt a little, but it wasn’t near as bad as i thought. i looked up videos on youtube also and it freaked me out, but either a) the piercer was terrible or b) the piercees had a VERY low tolerance for pain. yes it did bleed, and it is expected. my piercer did not use a dermal punch and i would not suggest that method!

i can’t tell you how bad it would hurt on the face, but i would expect a little more because there’s not much skin to hold on to.

you would be able to get a couple at a time, but the more you do, the more sore it’s going to be when the piercer is grabbing and poking.

You do know that dermal anchors are permanent, right? They’re not like piercings, they don’t come out easily when you get sick of them, Your piercer had to cut them out of your skin.

Seriously?

THINK ABOUT IT.

Then when you get sick of them, they will have to be cut out. . .and you will have scars on your face. And near your eyebrow? I was in a car accident last winter and I had several facial lacerations which had to be stitched up. Yeah, right next to my left eye. I will NEVER forget the pain I was in before they jabbed a 6-inch needle with anesthetic into my face. Popping out kids will hopefully be a peice of cake after that.

And now I have scars on my face, just about where yours will be when you decide to have the dermals taken out. I hope you like people staring at you A LOT.

Not to mention good luck finding a job, ever.

too many piercers use the dermal punch method. i don’t know why, they are so easy to do with a needle and less invasive. they way i do it, they are relatively pain free.

you DO NOT have to have them cut out. piercers that don’t know better cut them out. i did, until i learned more about them. they ‘pop’ out very easily leaving a very small, 14g, scar.

the face is especially easy with a needle. most of my clients say they didn’t hurt a bit.

unfortunaltely, the needle method seems to be the minority.

so, if you came to me, i could do all of them at once. i guess it depends on the piercer and your wallet.

also, they are semi-permanent. most employers won’t like them.

dermal piercings are soooo stupid. i don’t have any, but they look painful as HELL. they also look really ugly and you won’t be able to take them out of your face in a few years when you are tired of them and need to get a real job. i wouldn’t do it if i were you. if you want a facial piercing, i would go with your eyebrow or nose, because you can at least put in a clear plastic stud or just let it close up if you change your mind about it.
