The mass of an atom comes fromthe protons and neutrons that are found in the nucleus. The number of protons isthe atomic number of an element. To find the number of neutrons, subtract theatomic number from the mass of an atom. If the mass number of Fe2+ is 56. The atomic number is 26, so 56 – 26 equals30 neutrons.

the number of neutrons present in a single   atom is 30Explanation: Given atom is  which is basically ion of iron from which two electrons have been removed .Thus Atomic number of , Z = 26Mass number of  , M=56Now we know that the mass number of the atom (M) is equal to the sum of the number of protons(P) and neutrons(N) in the nucleus ,i.e., M=P+N ----(A)Also the number of protons in the nucleus of the atom is equal to the atomic number (Z).Therefore number of protons , P=Z= 26     Using equation (A) we get56=26+ N=>N=30Thus the number of neutrons present in a single   atom is 30

(3) different mass numbers but the same atomic numberExplanation:An isotope of an atom has the same atomic number but different mass number. For example, following are the isotopes of hydrogen:Hydrogen with atomic number 1 and mass number 1Deuterium with atomic number 1 and mass number 2Tritium with atomic number 1 and mass number 3.As we can see the atomic number is the same in each case while mass number changes. So option 3 is the correct option.
(3)Explanation:All isotopes of a given atom has different mass numbers but the same atomic number

1) Which two particles are found in the nucleus of an atom? The two particles found in the nucleus of an atom are neutrons and protonsElectrons revolve around the nucleus in a particular shell.  C.protons and neutrons2. The table below gives the atomic mass and relative abundance values for the three isotopes of element M.The average atomic mass will be  calculated as: average atomic mass = (23.9850 X 78.99 + 24.9858 X 10.00 + 25.9826 X 11.01 ) / 100 = 24.30 amu3. A particle that orbits the nucleus in an atom is called an electron  Electron is the negative sub atomic particle which revolves around nucleus in particular orbits.4. The table below gives the numbers of protons, electrons, and neutrons in four atoms. The number of electrons are equal to number of protons in a neutral atom of any element if there is more number of electrons than protons it means it is a negatively charged atom where magnitude of charge corresponds to the number of extra electronssimilarly if there is less number of electrons than protons it means it is a positively charged atom where magnitude of charge corresponds to the number of less electronsAtom Number of protons Number of neutrons Number of electrons1 9 8 82 9 9 83 9 9 104 9 10 9Based on the table, which atom has a charge of –1? the number of electrons are more in Atom 35. Boron occurs naturally as two isotopes. What is the difference between these isotopes? The isotopes of any element differs in number of neutrons,Ans"They have different numbers of neutrons and different mass numbers.6. The diagram below is an artist’s impression of a single atom of element Be. The neutrons are shown with stripes, the protons are gray, and the electrons are black. These particles are not drawn to scale.Ans: There are two electrons in the given diagram, five neutrons and four protons. the isotope will be one with same number of protons and different mass number. Hence the answer is Be-107. The mass number of Fe2+ is 56. How many neutrons are there in a single Fe2+ atom? The atomic number of Fe is 26 The number of neutrons = 56-26 = 308. A scientist uses an accelerator and high energy electrons to study the particles inside the protons of a helium atom. What particles is the scientist studying?D. the He quarks9. Which element has 16 protons in its nucleus? The number of protons is 16 it means it has atomic number of 16 D. sulfur10. The diagram below shows some subatomic particles. What is the particle that is labeled with a question mark (?) in the diagram?Quark are the subatomic particles located in neutrons and protons

ALL ISOTOPES OF AN ELEMENT HAVE THE SAME NUMBER OF;1. PROTON2. ATOMIC NUMBERExplanation:Isotopes are atoms with the same atomic number but different mass numbers. Isotopes of an element has the same number of proton which dictates the atomic number of the atoms. The difference in mass number is as a result of the difference in the number of neutrons. Isotopes of an atom have different physical properties but they exhibits the same chemical properties because neutrons have no influence on the chemical properties and the change or difference in neutrons will produce no effect on the chemical properties of the atoms. Neutrons only contributes to the mass of the atoms giving the isotopes of an atom different mass numbers. An example is chlorine with two isotopes, Cl -35 and Cl -37. Properties                            Cl-35                                                    Cl-37mass number                        35                                                        37atomic number                      17                                                         17number of protons                17                                                          17number of electrons                17                                                       17number of neutrons        35-17 = 18                                             37-17 = 20abundance in nature             75%                                                    25%

Answer is: 30 neutrons.Z = p⁺; atomic number.  Atomic number is the number of protons, which is characteristic of a chemical element, iron (Fe) is an element with atomic number 26.In neutral atom, number of protons is equal to number of electrons, but Fe²⁺ is cation who lost two electrons.A = p⁺ + n°; mass number is the total number of protons and neutrons in a nucleus.  A(Fe²⁺) = 56.p⁺(Fe²⁺) = 26.n°(Fe²⁺) = A(Fe²⁺) - p⁺(Fe²⁺).n°(Fe²⁺) = 56 - 26.n°(Fe²⁺) = 30.

Mass number is indicative of the number of protons and neutrons in the nucleus of Fez. The number of protons present in a neutral atom is equal to that of the number of electrons. Hence the number of neutrons present = 56- number of electrons. Explanation:

Part a: Isobars: Ca-41, K-41 and Ar-41Part b:Number of protonPart c:Incorrect statementExplanation:Part a:Nuclei with same mass number are called isobars.Given:Ca-40, Ca-41, K-41 and Ar-41Ca-41, K-41 and Ar-41 have equal mass numbers, so these are isobars.Part b:Atomic number of Ca = 20Atomic no. = Number of proton.So, Ca-40 ans C-41 have same number of proton or in other words proton count is common in both.Part c:Number of neutrons in Ca-41Atomic number = 20Mass number = 41Number of neutron = Mass number -atomic number                                 = 41 -20 = 21Number of neutrons in K-41Atomic number = 19Mass number = 41Number of neutron = Mass number -atomic number                                 = 41 -19 = 22Number of neutrons in Ar-41Atomic number = 18Mass number = 41Number of neutron = Mass number -atomic number                                 = 41 -18 = 23So, the statement is incorrect.
