Watch your corners, Check your corners?
Could someone please provide the verbatim description from the Armed Forces handbook regarding the proper technique for checking corners? I'm trying to resolve a debate on this topic. Thank you, and happy New Year!

what are you talking about, corners while of walls while clearing rooms or going around corners...either way, there is no verbatim way to do them. the thing with urban warfare is that there are tons of ways to do things, there is no set "right" way to do it...although there are plenty of WRONG ways. When you hear check your corners, alot of times that simply means scan to your designated point (usually a corner of a room) and scan outward/inward. When moving through streets and you get to a corner of a building there are a few options you can do, high man low man, getting in the prone and looking around...or slicing the pie, which I prefer, where you go slowly scanning around the corner, its kinda hard to explain, youtube probably will help you out with these terms

Are you asking what specific terminology is used? (check vs. watch) Or, are you looking for how it is done? I'm not sure this is what you want, but google the phrase "cut the pie" or possibly "slice the pie." I've heard it used both ways, though I believe cut the pie is more commonly recognized.
Essentially, you're making a wide arc around a corner, with your weapon pointed right at the edge, so you can see part of anyone hiding behind the corner before they see you. Think of it as going wide at the corner and always facing the threat, rather than running out and then turning.

Yeah, then you want to know how to cut the pie. I'd suggest youtube for a demo video. It's 10 x easier to understand by watching than by listening or reading.
i'm guessing this actually has something to do with bed sheet corners and inspections. i have no idea how to help you, sorry.
Right, what you do is send a squad mate to check around the Corner, if he gets shot then it's not safe.
