What are the products of this acid-base reaction?

CH3OCH3 + BF3 ? I'm currently struggling with acids and bases in organic chemistry. I understand concepts like hybridization, nomenclature, and Newman projections, but I've always found acids and bases challenging, dating back to general chemistry last semester. Could anyone help clarify the products of this reaction? Thanks!

O(CH3)2 + BF3 → BF3O(CH3)2

CH3OCH3 + BF3 → F3B- -—+O(CH3)2

Here is a link to a graphic drawing showing the reaction.

When all else fails, go to the instruction book. I could not remember if any or what reaction occured: Literature search revealed:

O(CH3)2 + BF3 → BF3O(CH3)2

Sorry, thats all I could find

No reaction possible (as far i can tell) coz Fluorine is a strong electron withdrawing group & it will not allow CH3O (-ve) to attack on boron (which is a electropositive element).

But if the product are coming.

F<——BF——->F

(arrow represents electron withdrawing nature of fluorine)Since boron has a tendency to become positive, the electron withdrawing effect of fluorine will hinder the stability.
