what do you mix with triple sec, or do you drink it straight?
I recently came across a bottle of old triple sec at my late mother’s house, and I’m curious about how best to enjoy it. Should I mix it with something, or is it meant to be sipped on its own? Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated!

It is an orange liqueur. You usually will use it in other drinks. A long island ice tea uses triple sec, for example. There are very few drinks based on the flavor of a triple sec.

Other than those things already mentioned some cake and or muffin recipes call for triple sec in them. Ahhh sweet margaritas…lol

Triplesec is usually a mixer, since as far as orange liqueurs go it isn’t very good (if you want to drink something like triplesec straight, go for Grand Marnier or Cointreau). It’s an ingredient in the increasingly-popular Cosmopolitan cocktail, along with vodka, lime juice, and cranberry juice.
