What does 2.4L, 4 cyl., SFI, DOHC mean?
I have a 1997 Nissan Altima, and I would like to understand what the terms "2.4L," "4 cyl.," "SFI," and "DOHC" mean in relation to my vehicle. Can someone explain these specifications and their significance?

2.4 L is your engine displacement cyl stands for cylinder and you have 4 sfi stands for sequential fuel injection and dohc stands for dual over head cam shafts .
If we tell you that DOHC means dual overhead cams, do you understand what THAT is?
We don’t have enough space here to explain it all so you can understand it. Sorry.
You CAN however go to www.howstuffworks.com and find info you can use.
P.S. OK, now you have heard the explanations, and you STILL have no idea what they mean, so what has been accomplished?
