Is SMS-Peeper a scam site?

I know this is old but, I'd still have to say — yes they are (it is) a scam. And yet after 2 years even, still haven't seen no shutting down. And as far as pursuance of any serious charges/punishment(s) regarding this site (and any other like it) and its content, haven't seen or heard anything as of yet either. However, on that note, there is no way anything like this would be free, let alone legit/legal. This violates all kinds of tapping laws, both Federal and State. Laws and regulations of which will most likely slam a ton of punishment on the owner of this site IF they ever decide to get around to it, that is. Let alone anyone who has benefited from the use of it (if at all), or those the site owner has used this site for in order to obtain countless number of people's personal information in this way! It's like having others do the hard work for them (actually it is), by entering in cell numbers and more. in order to actually directly benefit from and in obtaining any personal info themselves, for whatever agenda they had/have use of said info for. Where the user(s) would most likely not fully be the wiser as to the extent of said scam! Very illegal. Would not get involved if I were you though.... Show More

Just out of curiosity, why would anyone in their right mind think this site is legit? Do you really believe that all you need is someone's phone number and you can intercept their messages? I have read the site and the fine print says it will give you 50 outgoing and 50 incoming messages. Just to prove that it's a fake, I did this... I plugged in a land line. Guess what? It "found" 50 outgoing and 50 incoming SMS messages to/from a LAND LINE. This is a site that wants you to fill out surveys so it can spam you.... Show More

This is a scam. There is no software out there unless you install it on the phone to track another cell phone. If you go to: http://who.is/ in this case and there are other sites also to check names and ip numbers....for example it will tell you the ip number of the location or approximate location of the computer and where the company is registered and the company phone etc. If they are disconnect or don't answer it is normally a scam. In this case if you look up "sms-peeper.com" you will fine out the user used a false number in San Jose, CA and is actually in Poland. They want your info to try and get your accounts. Once they have your name they can check facebook and other social media. People post their lives on facebook and it is very easy to make calls and find out bank info and other information about you. yes, they are a scam, the code does not work, also when you try to contact customer service they do not respond back to you. They pretty much make you sighn up for offers and charge your credit card and scam you. Stay away from them everyone they are a scam.... Show More
