Prices might be a touch high, but in some areas this would be normal. A basic brake job is simply changing the pads/shoes and turning the rotors/drums. If rotors/drums are damaged or beyond specifications for turning, then replacement would happen. Calipers needing replacement normally suggest a lot of hard braking – sport racing perhaps – or abuse from not turning the rotors when needed before. In other words, calipers are not normally needed. Your list shows 2 reman calipers, and one unknown caliper…. where is the 4th caliper? Also, I am guessing that the Front Disc Brake Repair is actually just a pad swap, just as the rear would be a pad swap. If so, it is a little odd that the rears are more expensive than the fronts. Not unheard of, just odd. Would have to consult actual Prelude manuals to confirm whether this is truly out of whack. So… in a nutshell, your list is basically full brakes front and rear, added with both front calipers and one rear caliper (get the other, if one side is out, the other will be soon). Make sure they do a full brake fluid flush (you often have to ask for this)

It seems rather unlikely you need all new Brake Calipers. Unless the caliper pistons are leaking or the pistons are seized you do not need calipers. It is only slightly more likely you need both front AND rear brakes at the same time. They don’t wear at the same rate and only rarely require replacement at the same time.Over-selling brakes seems to be quite popular this year. I am getting a lot of customers in my shop who have been quoted for brake work they don’t need. More than half of them I have sent away because they needed no work at all.If you have a regular shop you use you should get a 2nd opinion. If you don’t have a regular shop you use, why not?

A quick check shows calipers around $40 ea. rotors $50 ea. Pads $35 a set for ceramics.So yeah, they are ripping you off.
