Jamaica Drinking Age in Resort?
Hello, I would like to know if the resorts in Jamaica adhere to the country's legal drinking age. According to various government websites, the legal drinking age in Jamaica is 16. Specifically, do the resorts in Negril follow this regulation as well? Please provide your insights based on factual information rather than assumptions. Thank you very much.

What is it with your people who are so immature that you would pay all that money and go to all that trouble to go to a nice Caribbean island.. and all you want to do is “Drink”.. you need to just grow up
According to this website http://www.icap.org/table/MinimumAgeLimitsWorldwid… there is no legal drinking age in Jamaica, only having to be 16 to purchase.
Now, any bar or resort is not going to serve someone that is obviously not mature enough or seemingly old enough to manage drinking alcohol. There is so much more to Jamaica, especially Negril then drinking so get out and enjoy!!

Jamaica Drinking Age in Resort?
Hello. I would like know whether or not the resorts in Jamaica follow the country’s drinking age rule. According to various government websites, the legal drinking age in Jamaica is 16. Do the resorts in Negril follow this rule as well? Please try not to base your answers on just assumptions….
The minimum age for Drinking in Jamaica is 18. I’m not assuming because I LIVE here. IDK who told you crap about being 16 trust me, its 18… In a major hotel they will definitely enforce this. Whether in Negril or not. HOWEVER, and this is a very big however… In general they aren’t strict about this at all… so in an independent bar they will serve you as long as you look mature… they won’t ask you for ID or anything.
At parties, they just don’t care… they serve and go. in some places I guess it mainly depends on the bartender’s judgement… but everyone loves money so they won’t refuse unless they’re really moral, or unless the person really looks young.
But as I said, at major hotels, especially all inclusive, you have to have an adult armband or else they won’t serve you. Bartenders can lose their jobs because of this.
