Japanese names meaning purple?

I am seeking Japanese girl names that are themed around the color purple, as well as names of beautiful flowers. Additionally, I would like to know if "Umesaki" would be a realistic name for a girl. Please provide the names in Romaji, Kanji, and Hiragana/Katakana. Thank you!

Hi,

there is an exact name that means purple. It’s Yukari (紫, ゆかり). Japanese often name the children after name of the colors, and especially purple is said to be a noble color, since traditionally purple has been used for decorations at temples or shrines, and for clothes of high-positioned Buddhist monks. I picked up some of other names related to purple color.

紫織(Shiori, しおり):Shiori is a popular girls’ name. It’s a beautiful name. 織(ori) means textile and very often used for girls names.

紫苑(Shion, しおん): means aster. It’s a purple flower and the kanji for purple is contained.

紫乃(Shino, しの): 乃(no) is also often used for girls name and it does not really have a meaning..it’s kind of a suffix. With 乃 at the end of the name, the name sounds and looks traditional and classical, in a good way.

Other names that reminds of the purple color

菖蒲(Ayame, あやめ):means iris. It’s a purple flower.

菫(Sumire, すみれ):means violet flower.

And there are lots of flower/plant names for girls!

"Umesaki" as you mentioned cannot be a given name. It’s definitely a surname. As a surname I think it’s fairly realistic. (should be 梅崎 for kanji)

Hope it helps!
