Meaning of the name “Anri” in Japanese?
Hi, everyone! I've always loved the name "Anri" and thought it would be a charming and versatile name for either a boy or a girl. I’ve come across its meanings in French, English, and Hebrew, but I recently heard that it might have a Japanese origin as well. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any information about its meaning in Japanese, and now I’m really curious! Can anyone shed some light on this? I’d truly appreciate your help. Thank you so much! 😊

First, “An-ri” is a girl’s name in Japanese.
Second, “An-ri” is usually represented by two chinese characters.
“An” can be represented by such characters as 安 (restfulness), 杏 (apricot), 晏 (peacefulness).
“Ri” can be represented by 理 (rationality, intelligence), 李 (peach), 璃 (jewel), 凜 (dignity), 鈴 (jingling bell), 莉 (jasmine) and so on.
You may choose any combination of characters.
I hope this helps.
As Mack says “Anri” is also a Japanese name and the meaning varies depending on the kanji, but the most common kanji I think is 杏里, and it means apricot country/orchard.
