My dryer all the sudden won’t turn on?
My Kenmore dryer has always worked great, but today, when I put the clothes in and pressed the start button, nothing happened—it didn't even attempt to start. I checked the fuse in the fuse box; it was still on, but I reset it just to be sure, and still, nothing changed. Do you have any ideas about what could be wrong?

If it is electric than I would say the thermal fuse or door switch has gone bad, the thermal fuse on the electric dryers takes out the entire dryer, most models it is located on the back of the dryer, heres a pic of what it might look like http://store.appliancepartsworld.com/3392519.html , you can check it with a volt/ohm meter, it should show resistance(same as putting the two meter terminals together), if it is bad, check your vent line to make sure it is not plugged, the door switch, just make sure the arm clicks when you push on it, you can check this the same way as the thermal fuse, with the arm pushed in it should show resistance. Hope this helps.

If it buzzes when you press the start button it is the door switch.
It it is just dead, other than power, you most likely lost the thermal fuse. Besides replacing the fuse (which is on the inside) you also want to check the hose behind the dryer and your venting to outside to determine why it ran hot and blew the fuse.
Good Luck
Close the door. Tightly. That will start your dryer.
There is a button that gets pressed when the door closes.
Easy to replace too!
Or the block where wires connect to the dryer can be cracked or the connection is loose. A robertson or square screwdriver should be all that you need.
Don’t forget to unplug first.
There should be another breaker outside the house since it is 220. Try next to the electric meter.
1. try unplugging it for a bit then plug it back in
2. it may have a thermal fuse that went bad
