What does back by popular demand mean?

The phrase "back by popular demand" is often used to indicate that something, such as a product, event, or performance, is being brought back or reintroduced due to overwhelming requests or enthusiasm from the public. Could someone explain its meaning in more detail, perhaps with examples of how it is commonly used?

It means that what ever product or service was discontinued. But some many people wanted it back that they brought it back.
