After speaking with Teiresias, Creon decides to take his prophecy seriously and goes to release Antigone from her tomb. Unfortunately, he arrives too late, as the prophecy has already been fulfilled. Initially, Creon dismisses Teiresias's warnings about the imminent consequences of his actions. However, he later realizes the gravity of the situation and changes his mind. Despite his efforts to correct his mistakes by attempting to free Antigone, he discovers that she has already died, along with his son and wife.
