What does “Direct bill utilities” mean?
I'm currently exploring apartment options as I may be moving off-campus next year, and I've noticed that many listings mention "direct bill utilities." Could you clarify what this term means? Specifically, does it indicate that the landlord covers utility expenses such as electricity, water, sewage, and similar services, or am I still responsible for these costs?

No, it doesn’t mean they pay for utilities.
It means you are “directly billed” for your utilities. “They” are not responsible. You are.
Most apartments come with water, trash and heat paid. One pays electricity, gas if there is a gas stove.
So check before you rent – what utilities – exactly – you will be paying for.
More likely it means you get directly billed for the utilities and you have to pay them. If the utilities were included in the rent, it would say “included”.
