What does initiative mean in Final Fantasy 10?
What does the "Initiative" ability do in Final Fantasy X? I've noticed it on a few of the weapons I have, but I'm not entirely sure how it works. Could someone explain its effects and how it influences gameplay?

It's an ability in a few weapons that I have.
It means wielding that particular weapon will increase your chances of striking the enemy before they strike you, thus you have the initiative; you go first. Inversely, it also means enemies have a much lesser chance of ambushing you.
