What does it mean to have a “XIV” tattooed on the back of ones neck?

I just happened to see this a few times now.So what does it mean to have a "XIV" tattooed on the back of ones neck? Specifically a girl if that matters.

There can be several different meanings behind it. Yes, it is the roman numeral for the number 14. But in prison inmates will use roman numerals in place of letters as a code. There for in such case XIV would mean N. XIV is also a gang-related symbol. It's very popular in the Aryan Brotherhood and several Mexican gangs which are linked to the Mexican Mafia. I would agree with everyone - once it gets to the point of not being able to cover them up because there are so many.....or maybe 50% is a better distinction. I suppose if you had a couple of tattoos in spots that couldn't be covered that wouldn't count as heavily tattooed.... Show More
