T.P.I. is Tuned Port Injection and T.B.I. is Throttle Body Injection. The difference is a T.P.I. set up utilizes 1 injector per cylinder and injects fuel into an intake runner in the plenum chamber. Air is fed into the plenum through the throttle body at the head of the plenum. T.B. I. uses a similar design as a carburetors engine would. When the throttle plates are open (accelerating) fuel is injected into the intake/lower plenum via 2 injectors (most commonly).
tpi is tuned port injection. all of the intake runners are of equal length. multiple injectors.
tbi throttle body injection. one or two injectors over what appears to be a carburetor.
both are computer controlled means of delivering the right amount of fuel to the airstream going into the engine.
