What is Love?

How do you define love? What are its key characteristics, and how does it manifest in different contexts such as relationships, friendships, or self-care?

love is always giving hundreds of chances to the one you really love no matter what happens... you'll just love them whatever they'll do, either good or bad...

Love is when you have something important but put time aside for them anyway. Love is when you care about their happiness, even when it affects yours. Love is a bouquet of roses, a midnight picnic, or just lounging around all day doing nothing but savoring each other s presence. Love is fighting, sure, but never really /hating/ each other. Love is wanting it. Love is needing it. Love is letting the other person breathe and live by themselves, but if they crash or fall or burn, you ll be right there to catch them. Love is confidence and love is pain. Sometimes it will hurt so, so much, but in the end it s okay because, well...

Love is a promise, simple as that.

Love is when the other person's well-being matters as much as your own.

You can love your family, your spouse, your children, your co-workers .. .even all of humanity.

Love is NOT about how happy YOU are. That is just selfish attachment to a person, and selfishness is not what love is about.

When it comes to personal relationships, romantic love is selfish attachment, and only a temporary initial stage in a long-term relationship. And most couples do NOT learn to love each other.

Actual love is a decision . .it is the decision to treat your partner gently and with respect even when you are torn up inside with hurt or pain or anger.

Love is an action, not a feeling YOU have inside yourself.

If one's actions are not loving, then the person does not love.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues (language), they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Sometimes love is complicated because we have no idea of what goes around us. But there are various interpretations of love. For example. I founded a new girlfriend named Heidi and i couldn't resist her beauty but when i heard of her kidney health issues, i knew that i had to show her love and compassion in the most purest way by praying for her and showing her the love of God. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Other types of love is seen as sexual ones and i don't believe in that. And yes, i do kiss her but it's out of love, honesty and purity.

Love is a gift that is given whether the other deserves it or not. A gift that keeps giving, that does not judge and is most honest. Love is the vulnerability of one person to another whose sole attempt is to bring joy, comfort, protection, goodness in abundance to the other even when they themselves don't get it back but their joy and purpose lies in doing so.

I feel he is my kind, and my family. Like I can really talk to him. I consider his well being my well being...I love everything about this guy, even the things I don't like...All I ever want to do is impress him and when he is disappointed in me it hurts me like hell...Se x is out of this world...

Literally, I never knew se x can be that great...I also never imagined I could feel so close to another human being ever...Talking to him is out of this world...

I just love the guy...I would do anything if I felt it would benefit him, even make him hate me and leave him...He is so amazing to me...When he carries me around in his arms I feel like that is heaven, right there...

My favorite place is in his lap and in his arms...He does this thing, when we are laying down to watch tv or sleep, where he wraps me up in his arms and puts his leg over my hips and I'm all wrapped up in his hug, in his body and I just want to die how happy this makes me...or live, I want to live how happy this makes me 😀

Love is when you know that despite the fact it would hurt you, you want them to do what truly makes them happy even if that means leaving you. It's when their happiness and well being becomes your number one priority, it's when the most selfish thing you could do is let them go.
