A limit line is where the vehicle is to come to a stop during operation. It is not a mark to indicate a crosswalk or the beginning of an intersection.So, it would seem to me that your statement is false.... Show More

at a intersection with a stop sign or traffic light there are limit lines indicated on the pavement weather there is a crosswalk or not. the front of the car should not extend beyond the point of the limit line, it is there to permit traffic turning into the opposing lane and not striking stopped traffic... A limit line marks where the car or truck is supposed to stop until it is safe to continue (waiting for the light or a gap in traffic) . It may or may not be with a crosswalk; If you are driving you are not supposed to creep forward.Good Luck.... Show More

some intersections have limit lines. It is a white line BEFORE the two crosswalk lines. That line is what you should stop behind- if there is one there! Cops can ticket you if you pull past it.... Show More

This is so the nose of your car doesn't block the crosswalk. I've never seen a cop ticket anyone for this, but it's rude to be over this line; especially if you're a pedestrian.... Show More
