Why are my tires wearing on the inside?

So, I was changing my oil the other day and I noticed that the inside of my front two tires are wearing more than the rest. I noticed that there is a slight feathering from the leading edge of the tread (the part of each tred that hits the road first). the wear is just begining and is on only the inner 2 inches of each of the front tires. I’m just wondering if it’s my allignment, wheel balance, or struts to blame. Or if it could be something else. I didn’t get a chance to inspect the rear wheels yet but I’ll post more on that soon.

it could be a combination of several factors, all related to front end, have the front end alignment checked first, I went to a les schwab last time I did mine, and they said the alignment was good, so there was no charge. once you establish what is going on, have the tires rotated, this will help them last longer, however once a tire starts to wear unevenly, it will wear like that until its time to replace them, all cars wear a little usually on the inside, unless the driver grinds the wheels into the curb when parking, My grandma god bless her soul for some reason, decided that parking against the curb was the only way, and would grind the hubcaps on a high curb as she made sure to get both hubcaps touching the curb sometimes. My dad and I both tried to explain that she had 18 inches, but she would get mad, and blame some kid on hitting her hubcap in the supermarket.

Chances are that any uneven wear on either the inside or the outside of the tire is probably due to the front end not being aligned quite right and or a balancing problem. I would take it to a shop and have them check it.

You didn’t mention what vehicle. Your alignment may be off.However, there are some performance vehicles that use a negative camber (splay the wheels outward from the bottom) to raise cornering abilities. 2005 mustangs and up are a good example. Rotating your tires once or twice a year helps.

The Camber is severely negative. they need to be aligned. thats if you mean inside by only the side closest to the engine.If you mean right in the middle of the tire, they are over inflated.
