A=mass number   (protons + neutrons)Z=atomic number  (protons)N=number of neutrons.A=Z+NData:A=24N=13Therefore:24=Z+13Z=24-13=11 The atomic number of this atom is 11. (The element is sodium)

1.- The mass number of an atom equals the number of neutrons plus the number of protons. Then, for this atom the number of protons equals 24 less 13 = 11. The number of protons is the atomic number, so the answer is that the atomic number is 11. 2.- A = 38, means that the isotope of argon has mass number of 38. Given that the atomic number of argon is 18, this isotope has 18 protons and 38 less 18 = 20 neutrons. Then, the nuclear symbol is Ar precedeed by the numbers 38 (upper left corner) and 18 (lower left corner).

11,the numbers of protons and electrons are always equal in an atom, the numbers of protons tell us about atomic number of elementmass number=no. of P+no. of Nhere,24no. of P(atomic number)=24-13=11

Atomice number will be atomic mass - no. of neutrons that is 24-13 = 11
The atomic number would be 11. since there are 13 neutrons and the mass number is 24, the number of protons must be 11. This is because the atomic mass (24) is the added amount of protons and neutrons in the atom.
