Can you go back to high school after graduating?

I have done public school all my life, went to 3 different high schools and moved at the beginning of senior year and decided that, only needing an English credit, I would homeschool. I graduated within 2 weeks of starting homeschool and attended a private college for a semester. For some odd reason, a couple of my scholarships were messed up due to my graduating from a homeschool (or so my school said), and it put me in a position in which I now owe the school 5,000 dollars. I am wondering if there is any way that I can receive a degree from a public school, so I can get the money that I need. I made a 26 on my ACT. They said that the reason I couldn't receive these scholarships is due to my being enrolled for such a short time in homeschool. I lived in Tennessee at the time of high school, both public and homeschool, and the semester in college. If I can not do this, can I retake the ACT or take the SAT to receive a higher score? I did horribly on the science section of the ACT, making my score go down dramatically; I assume that the SAT, having no science section, would give me a better score. Thank you.

Generally high schools do not allow graduates to attend. I think that you need to check with the financial aid officer at the college you attended to learn more about this scholarship fiasco. Ask if it would make a difference if you were to earn a diploma from a public high school now. You might also ask for copies of the letters they received from the groups providing the scholarships. This situation makes no sense at all unless the scholarships were designated especially for homeschool graduates and the groups providing the scholarships decided that one course did not make you a homeschool graduate. Ask the financial aid officer could provide you with other scholarships to make up the difference. Something seems very strange about all this. When you say that this involved a private school, do you mean a for-profit school? If you do not get a good explanation from the school, you might want to contact an attorney. Most attorneys don't charge for initial consultations. I don't want to encourage you to spend money on this, so be sure that the attorney won't charge you before you go to an appointment. It seems to me that reputable schools would accept responsibility for this situation (assuming they found the scholarships for you and you didn't apply on your own) and find you scholarship money from a different source. You might also tallk with your counselor from your most recent public school. Counselors are usually willing to talk with their former students. So you might want to call for an appointment or maybe he/she could help you over the phone. You certainly can re-take the ACT, the SAT, or both if you want to.... Show More
You can definitely retake the ACT or SAT tests to raise your score. Many students take these tests a few times to get the best score possible. You might want to get a practice book geared to the test you plan to take and go through it. They'll have review sections and strategies to help increase your score; plus practicing the types of questions asked can help a lot, too. (You can even find these practice books at many public libraries to help keep costs down.)As for going back to high school, that's not going to be possible. If you were admitted to a college as a high school graduate, a high school isn't going to let you enroll and do it over. But you can up your test scores and try applying for some other scholarships or grants or something.Good luck.... Show More
Once you're graduated from high school that is it. You can't have two diplomas from there. The only way I can see you getting around paying the school money is to talk to a financial counselor at the school and asking to see the stipulations for that scholarship. If it says nothing about being homeschooled, tell them. Also, check out scholarships for kids who were homeschooled. I'm sure they're out there. Best of luck.... Show More
You graduated the former day? Congratulations, Ethan! i haven't graduated yet, yet i'm form of looking forward to ending college, in spite of the undeniable fact that i comprehend i will in simple terms be going back to college after. i comprehend that i will actually omit intense college, I made this type of great type of stable acquaintances right here. and additionally, i would be graduating with (as a rule) a similar team of toddlers that i began intense college with. At my college they try this factor like homeroom, yet you're with a similar young ones for all 4 years (different than for, of path, ones that circulate away or circulate into the class), so it somewhat is going to quite be unhappy leaving them.
