Determine whether 3x-4y+7=3y+1 is a linear equation?
Is the equation (3x - 4y + 7 = 3y + 1) a linear equation? Please provide an explanation for your answer.

Rearrange the equation by adding 4y to both sides, and subtracting 1 from both sides
3x + 6 = 7y
so y = 3/7 x + 6/7
this is in slope-intercept form, so it is linear
YES
do the same operations to both sides, to set it equal to Y
Since this can be put in Y=mx + b form, it is linear. It has a positive (upward from left to right) slope of 3/7
3x-4y+7=3y+1
-7y = -3x -6
y = (3/7)x + 6/7
