Has Francis Hughes Street in Boston been renamed?

I have googled for the anwser everywhere and can find nothing. The Boston fathers decided to name the street that the British consulate was housed in their city after IRA murderer, thug and extreme dieter Francis Hughes back in 1981. Did they rename the street shortly after or long after? My guess is that the city fathers named the street anytime after September the 12th 2001 when they realised how terrorism can affect the innocent!

There’s no Francis Hughes Street in Boston. The Consulate has been a variety of places in Boston, now Cambridge. “Before moving to its second location in Kendall Square in Cambridge, the British Consulate-General was located at One Memorial Drive (2002-2009), the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston (1990 to 2002), and before that on the 47th floor of the Prudential Tower. Since 1920, the Consulate has occupied a variety of buildings on Atlantic Avenue, 140 or 148 State Street, 10 Post Office Square, and two locations in the Hancock Building.” All of those streets are very major streets, never renamed anything. There may have been a ceremonial renaming, but nothing permanent. This could be an urban legend.... Show More
Boston has a rich history and a varied neighbourhood; it has a heritage of arts, culture, and knowledge; Boston has something for all therefore discover what Boston can give you with hotelbye . The three-mile Freedom Trail leads you previous – and into – 16 of the city’s key ancient monuments and sites. It’s easy to follow, by the line of red bricks in the sidewalk and by footprints at street crossings. The walk can get you to Old Granary Burying Ground wherever Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock are hidden; can get you to King’s Chapel Burying Ground, the Boston’s oldest cemetery; Old South Meeting House where in actuality the calling speeches of patriots spawned the Boston Tea Party and the Old State House, Boston’s oldest community building and the site of the Boston Massacre....
