How much do chihuahuas cost?

firstly…DO NOT go to a pet store…those dogs all come from puppy mills, and are so drugged up to keep them ‘healthy’ after they come in…that they usually all have pneumonia when they get home…so theres TONS of vet bills…and who knows what other problems could be there from bad breeding.i would agree to go to a shelter…there are tons of chihuahuas coming in all of the time…but, chihuahuas are kinda known for having attitudes…so that could be a problem also….i would also suggest going here…http://www.akc.org/classified/search/index.cfm?use… just fill in the feilds needed and they will give you a list of breeders that have puppies RIGHT now…they also have the link for the Chihuahua Club of America…and they also have a list of registered breeders to select from. and all of these breeders are inspected by the AKC and the parent clubs to make sure they are following good breeding practices and not becoming a puppy mill…and most all of the breeders on there show their dogs up to a Champion Title…so you know they are going to look good. lol.a puppy can cost anywhere from 200-700 dollars…but that should NOT be the main factor in deciding where to get your puppy…a cheap puppy (175 bucks from a pet store or back yard breeder) is going to be cheap cheap quality…but also dont be fooled by the bad breeder who charges allot..just do your research and look at a LOT of different shelters and breeders till you find one that your comfortable with.... Depends on who you’re buying from. I’ve seen breeders charging in the thousands for them (please don’t pay this much). I’ve also seen them in the local newpaper for as low as 250. You probly won’t get any lower than that.I’d like to add my agreement to adopting if you can. Not all shelters are going to have chihuahuas(I hardly see any at my shelter) but you should look there before you look for a breeder.... Show More

Adopt from a shelter. Many times they have pure breds. my shelter has 2 purebred chihuahuas; so shelters dont just carry mutts like many people think. Plus they are much cheaper like 50$-250$ [seinor to puppy].... Show More
