educating preschoolers should begin at home. they don`t learn anything at preschool that you can`t teach them at home. the only benefit I can see is that they can interact with other children.... Show More
Just attending preschool itself is a educational experience for children as they are learning valuable socialising skills as well as making friendships that will hopefully see them through the first turbulent weeks of starting proper school. But preschool education should be very much learning through play rather than formal education where the child is made to sit still and be taught to. Nursery schools should be led by the child over how much they want to learn and there should be a variety of games and stories for the children that both teach them but also ones that are shared just for fun’s sake. An introduction should be made to numbers and the alphabet but it should be again just a game rather than an attempt to actually get kids to memorise.... Show More
Preschool-aged children should be learning through play in a theme-based, hands on environment. Those who say their children don’t learn anything at preschool they can’t learn at home have obviously never sent their children to a GOOD preschool. Children should be socializing, developing skills in all areas – including academics, social, gross and fine motor, and higher level skills. The activities they do and the questions asked of them should be open ended so the children are given an opportunity to think for themselves and develop independence and confidence.... Show More
Find something in their play. for instance they can practice counting, by counting the blocks they used to build, do the have different colors or shapes also? Are there any letters on the cereal box you used today. Can they make a lion go RRRRR just like the letter R. Make it playful, imaginative and spontanious. And when the child id done stop. You’ll get another chance later. They are young and their attention span is short.... Show More
Let me guess, child developement 1 or 2. I aced both.My philosophy was based on the concept that the children had to feel safe in their environment and that they had a sense of partnership in their setting.... Show More
I believe that I would focus on the importance of early socialization and/or the idea of learning through play. Ample information on both can be found on the web.... Show More
