i stepped on a earring and it went into the skin what should i do?
Earlier this evening, I accidentally stepped on an earring, and it pierced the bottom of my foot deeply, with the entire stem embedded in my skin. I removed the earring, but it hurt intensely. There was no bleeding, but I immediately noticed bruising and swelling. I washed the area, which is just below my big toe, but it remains very tender, swollen, and bruised, and I'm experiencing occasional spasms of pain. What should I do? Should I see a doctor, or can I just leave it as is? Please help.

I'm not a doctor, but my dad is, and usually he'd say protecting it from infection is the most important thing. Do you have Neosporin or another kind of antibiotic ointment? You can put that on it and cover it with a bandage. You may need to get a tetɑɲυꜱ shot. I remember when a nail went in my friend's foot, he had to do that. Tetɑɲυꜱ is very dangerous, even fatal. But it usually happens when something old and rusty gets in you, or something that's been in the ground in the soil. But you should see a doctor as soon as you can. If you go to the ER (emergency room), it will cost you money (a lot), but you may have to if you can't wait until tomorrow when there's a doctor at an office to see you.
Definitely don't leave it uncovered. You should do everything you can to prevent infection. Also, ice pack can help with swelling.

The fact the metal stayed in your heel for three days probably cause more tissue and nerve endings damage while you continued to walk on it for those days. The removal of the impaled object by having to "dig" it out also caused tissue and nerve damage and reoƿє-ṅєd the wound which probably had closed up but was starting to fester..Are you sure you got all of it ?? If your heel is still redding and it spreading and still really sore you might still have a piece inside that broke off or some sort of contamination that was on the metal when it first ᴘᴇɴᴇтʀᴀтed. You could get a very serious infection. It's best if you get to your doctor for a xray and antibiotics...

Don't leave it, it may cut through other vessels! Try using a tweezer ( the thing us girls use for eyebrows) or if it doesn't budge. Or soak your foot in warm water to neurtralize ( its for glass removal maybe it'll work on earnings) or go to a doc and he'll take it out and take your money out :p har har. I hope your foot feels better ?
For some reason, when you puncture yourself and it does not bleed it does hurt worse than when it bleeds. Get a tetɑɲυꜱ shot. We are supposed to have a booster every 10 years.
i think you should clean it with peroxide and then check on it tomorrow, if it's starting to swell more or maybe starts looking infected, you should see a doctor.
See a doctor just in case, not sure if you would need stitches or not. Im not sure how huge it is.
