The given statement is False.The old growth forests are full of full of the trees that are rich in the valuable timber, while environmentalists seek to preserve the forests for its benefits.These old grown trees are economically very important and it serves animals in providing habitat and food. There are huge variety plants and trees that can be used for the medical purposes too.The large and old trees have strong and big wooden pieces that can be used in logging industry.

True Old growth forests are full of sick, diseased, and decadent trees because the tree which gets incorporated or infected by a pathogen like bacteria, virus, protozoan or even invasive fungi in young age. With the age of the tree the colonization of the pathogen increases and it's impact over the trees also increases. Hence, results in diseases.
