really need help, please only answer if you are 100% sure.Is this correct?MELODIC MINORSA minor is the relative minor of C major so there is no key signature. In A minor when the scale is ascending (going up) you raise the 6th and 7th and flattern the 3rd?And when the scale is descending you lower the 6th and 7th. don’t know about the 3rd.So…Melodic A Minor AscedingA B Cb D E Fsharp Gsharp. Careful – while the answers so far are not wrong, they are not complete; in the melodic minor, descending notes are altered as well.The A melodic minor scale up and down: A B C D E F# G# A G(natural) F(natural) E D C B ABasically, for any given melodic minor, raise the 6th and 7th notes when ascending, and lower them back down when descending. Nothing special happens to the 3rd of the scale.

The notes in an a minor scale are as follows:A B C D E F G AAnd when you said there isn’t a key signature, that’s not true. There are just no sharps or flats. It still counts as a key signature.And I’m pretty sure that A B C D E F# G# A would be the melodic minor ascending.I never did much work with that, but that would be the 6th and 7th tones raised a semi-tone.

no melodic scales going up you only raise the 3rd note… and going down you lower the 6th and 7th 🙂 i think its pretty bad for a grade 8 pianist not to know all this aha lol. xx
