my radio is out on my ford f150 truck … which fuses control the radio?
Could someone help me identify the fuse numbers and their location that are designated for the radio in my 2002 Ford F-150? My radio has stopped working, and I suspect it might be a fuse issue. Any detailed guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Short Answer:
#1 position of the passenger compartment fuse box, it’s a 15Amp blue fuse is labeled “Audio”.
#8 position of the passenger compartment fuse box, it’s a 5Amp tan fuse is labeled “Radio” (and other accessories).
#20 position of the passenger compartment fuse box, it’s a 15Amp tan fuse is labeled “Audio” (and other accessories).
#30 position of the passenger compartment fuse box, it’s a 30Amp green fuse is labeled “Radio Noise Capacitor” (and other accessories).
Long Answer (for future reference):
There are actually 2 “fuse boxes”
The Passenger compartment fuse panel & the power distribution box
Passenger compartment fuse panel
The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering wheel by
the brake pedal. Remove the panel cover to access the fuses.
To remove a fuse use the fuse puller tool provided on the fuse panel
cover.
The power distribution box:
is located in the engine compartment.
The power distribution box contains
high-current fuses that protect your
vehicle’s main electrical systems
from overloads.
The fuse panel and power distribution box locations can be viewed, with diagrams, from your owners manual (fuse chapter starts on page 207)
If you don’t have an Owners Guide, Digital Owners manuals can be downloaded right from Fords Owner website.
I can give you a direct link to the pdf download file:
2002 Ford F150 http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WO2…
Or use the link to the Ford owners Site:
http://www.ford.com/owner-services/owning
You don’t have to log-in or register to view or copy owners Guides. Just submit the year/make/model
(Occasionally, if the servers are down at Ford.. the links will not work. If that happens and you get an error message, just give it a try later.)
I hope this helps.

The radio unexpectedly quit on our 2002 Ford150 which was followed later in the day by some starting problems. No fuses out but after cleaning the battery terminals and charging the battery for several hours the radio came back to life. As it turns out the battery was our problem but regardless it seems as though the factory installed radio/CD assembly seems to be more voltage sensitive and may in some perverted way alert an owner to system voltage stability problems.

When it says two colors, it means that a single wire is two colors. For instance, a Brown/Pink wire is brown with a pink stripe on it. So for the right rear speaker, you’ll find the brown wire with the pink stripe and the orange wire with the red stripe. Those two wires will hook to the radio’s wiring harness leads for the right rear speaker. Do the same with each of the other three speakers. The wiring harness for the radio will also have a place for the constant power…hook the light green wire with the pink stripe to it. Just follow the logical steps with each item on the radio’s wiring harness. Each lead needs a specific wire. That’s all there is to it. – Stuart
On all Ford products I’ve ever seen the schematic for the fuses is embossed either on the front or back of the panel cover.
