My Runescape account has not logged out from its previous session?

So here’s the deal. You might know the problem on the Runescape login screen, when it says that your account has not logged out. About 13 hours ago, I was about to log out of Runescape, but I forgot to actually log out, so I just closed my laptop to standby. Yes, I know it was kind of stupid. Then, this following morning, I try to log on, and it went and gave me that message. An hour later, I try again, with still no luck. I began to get worried. I started googling the problem, and someone stated, that it could be because of the servers being down. I asked a friend to try and log in on my laptop, and he had no problems. Even worse was, that on his friend list, I was shown as offline. Now I began to really worry. Jagex’s support center tells me, that I do not have to worry, and I just have to wait an hour or so. I dont know, but I last logged in 12 hours ago, and if its been glitching that long, something must be up right?Do any of you guys have a solution? Feel free to ask me about anything related to this problem, and I will try to answer you, if it can help you with helping me with my problem ðAlso, excuse my not too good English. I’ve had this problem with RuneScape twice before, and I searched the internet for ages trying to figure out how to resolve the issue, but to no avail. Honestly, the only thing that I know of that you can do is wait a few hours, until it logs you out. I had to wait until the next day, which was kind of a bummer. If you’re in a clan, what you could do is check on the RS website, in your clan’s private forum, to see if you’re still logged in or not. That’s how I found out that I was still listed as being logged in on W22.

Most issues with online browser games have something to do with cache and cookies. Have you already tried clearing your cache and cookies in your browsers? Have you also tried loging in another pc or another account on your pc?

This happens to everybody. I get that message often, but I close it and try again immediately. I usually get in by closing it and trying again within three times (and this only takes a couple minutes). If it still doesn’t let you in, try a different server and keep trying. Sometimes it is the server. If you accidentally logged out, you should be able to get in no longer than an hour. Rarely, very rarely, this means that someone could be on your account and hacking it, but then you wouldn’t be able to make it to the lobby screen. When you log in again, check your items just to be safe. This error message has been popping up a lot, lately, so you’re definitely not alone.
