What does ‘field based’ mean?

It’s a description for a job in finance which is classed as ‘predominately field based in the first year’. Just wondering whether its door to door sales or something?Thanks in advance!

Field based means you aren’t working just from one office, but you will be out meeting people and visiting different sites.Door to door sales would be classed as field based, but so would visiting regional offices or meeting new clients.... Show More

A job, perhaps as a rep, outside the main office. Could mean a position in a satellite office.... Show More

It means ‘out and about’ rather than based at a desk in a single office (i.e. usually lots of travel).... Show More
