what is a physiological disease?
What exactly is a physiological disease, and how does it differ from other types of diseases? Could you provide examples to help clarify its meaning?

Physiology = the function of different parts of the body. As such, a physiological disorder would mean any disorder or disease which impacts the function of a body part or body system. A biological psychologist would say that mental disorders are physiological in that they are the result of a chemical imbalance, while a neurologist recognizes cerebral infarcts (strokes) as an organic, physiological disorder.
Long story short, a physiological disease is just about any disease you can think of, from the flu, to cancer, to AIDS, to an ulcer.

A mental health disorder would be a PSYCHO-logical disease, not a PHYSIO-logical disease. This person was asking about physiological, which refers to the systems within the body, not limited to the brain.
