What is a “turd knocker”?

My dad in a joking manor would refer to us as "turd knockers" when we were young. He recently called one of my daughters a "turd Knocker" and I asked him what it meant. He didn't know. He said that his grandfather use to call he and his brothers and sister that. He said it just comes out of his mouth without even thinking. He also said when his grandpa would call them "turd knockers" he did it with a smile. What on earth does "turd knocker" mean? If anyone knows please indulge me. Thanks.

Haha my brother and I used to call each other fart knockers. It's just a term of endearment really. It doesn't have much meaning, maybe some sort of history, but for the most part it's like calling a little kid Stinker, Booger, or Monster. They don't sound particularly sweet, but they are meant that way.

Sorry Buk !!, Can't do it, my confidence is at an unfathomable low at the moment , I can be pretty harsh on myself but saying TURD at the moment just feels like a form of justifiable self- criticism. ( I won't be tricked again!. You Vile Tempter....There's no Street Cred to be regained by saying Turd , not even if I put on the most ridiculous Dutch accent. My parents used to call my brother and I little turd snappers, lol. It's the same as little monsters or little whipper snappers. Just a nick name is all. Guess I don't really know exactly what it means though, sorry.

I have no clue, but it certainly doesn't sound good, does it? I personally get a "gay" innuendo out of it, but maybe that's just me.I would ask him not to call my kids that, if it were happening to me. And if he continued to do it, I would then start bringing it to his attention after every incident.... It will sink in.
