I think the person who said “wall fish” was probably talking about a tool I call a “fish tape.” It’s for “fishing” a cable through a wall – just a long, sort of flimsy wire that has a hook on one end – you put this wire through the hole in the wall, lead it out the other hole, hook whatever you want to fish through the wall to the hook, and then pull the tape back through. In short, you don’t need one of these to hook up a cable modem – your cable provider should run the cable for you (and the technician might use a fish tape to run the cable!).
