Translate spanish poem?

I need help translating a poem by Félix María called "El perro y el cocodrilo." I believe I understand most of its meaning, but I'm confused about the last few lines. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Here’s the poem:

EL PERRO Y EL COCODRILO

Bebiendo un perro en el Nilo al mismo tiempo corría. —Bebe quieto—le decía un taimado cocodrilo.

Díjole el perro prudente: —Dañoso es beber y andar, ¿pero es sano el aguardar a que me claves el diente?

¡Oh, qué docto perro viejo! Yo venero tu sentir en esto de no seguir del enemigo el consejo.

I think my translation is:

"A dog drinking in the Nile was also running at the same time. 'Drink calmly,' said a crafty crocodile. The wise dog responded, 'It is harmful to drink and walk, but is it wise to wait until you bite me?' Oh, what a wise old dog! I admire your reasoning in this matter of not following the enemy's advice."

I get confused at the end!

yes you are good … at the end.. it says

“I revere your feel

in to not listen

the advice of the enemy”

“No seguir del enemigo el consejo” is the same that “not follow the enemy’s advice” bc is a literary genre and it can change the position … all the poets do it ?

A dog drinking in the Nile

At the same time runniing

“Drink calmly” a crafty crocodile was telling him.

The wise dog said” Is harmful to drink and walk

but is okay to wait for you to sink your teeth into me?

Oh, what a wise (docto) old dog!

I respect your feelings

about not following an enemy’s advise.

THE DOG AND THE CROCODILE

Drinking a dog on the Nile

running simultaneously.

-Bebe still, told

a sneaky crocodile.

Wise dog said to him:

-Harmful is drinking and walking,

But is healthy waits

I key to the tooth?.

Oh, the old dog learned!

I venerate you feel

in this not to follow

enemy of the council.

It’s something about not following the advice of an enemy, but I can’t quite understand the first half of the sentence. “I honor your feelings about this not following the advice of your enemy”. Something like that.
