verify the identity cos x + sin x tan x= secx?
I am trying to verify the identity ( \cos x + \sin x \tan x = \sec x ). I'm feeling a bit lost with this problem. Could someone please provide guidance or a step-by-step solution? Thank you!

Many basic trig identities are a simple manipulation of cos x cos x +sin x sin x =1 .
Divide through by cos x to get
cos x + sin x (sin x / cos x) = 1/cos x
now the definitions sin x / cos x= tan x
and 1 /cos x = sec x give what you want.

sin x + (sin x/cos x)/(a million + a million/cos x) (sin xcosx + sin x)/cos x)/(cos x + a million)/cos x component our “sin x” in the numerator (sin x (cos x + a million)/cos x)/(cos x + a million)/cos x observe that (cos x + a million)/cos x will in simple terms cancel out, subsequently sin x = sin x

cos x + sin x tan x= secx
cos x + sin x [sinx/cosx]= secx
[cos^2x+sin^2x]/cosx =1/cosx = secx
