Many basic trig identities are a simple manipulation of cos x cos x +sin x sin x =1 .Divide through by cos x to get cos x + sin x (sin x / cos x) = 1/cos x now the definitions sin x / cos x= tan xand 1 /cos x = sec x give what you want.... Show More
