I received my paycheck a day earlier than expected. Can I cash it today, even though it is dated for tomorrow?

According to The Uniform Code of Commerce, a bank is not obligated to hold the check until the date stated. Some banks may wait until the Post dated time as a courtesy to the customer. A bank may charge against the account of a customer a check that is otherwise properly payable from the account, even though payment was made before the date of the check, unless the customer has given notice to the bank of the postdating describing the check with reasonable certainty.
In general, no.
The funds are only guaranteed to be in the funding account on the day stated on the check. Which means if it bounces, it will be your fault not theirs.
However, an employer would have to be nuts to give employees checks that had not been funded...unless you asked for yours early because you will not be in tomorrow.
It is called a post-dated check and will not be honored if presented for payment before the check date. You can try and deposit it, but don't be surprised if the teller asks you to redeposit it on or after the check date.
