You can push power steering fluid out of the reservoir, and in turn splatter it all over the front of your engine. Power steering fluid should not be left on painted or rubber surfaces – it will damage them, so obviously a splatter of the stuff wouldn’t be a great idea! Best to siphon or drain some off.... Your pump will hopefully just leak out the cap but sometimes it puts to much pressure on the system and it will blow out the rubber seals either in the pump or the rack. You should drain the pump down to normal operating level to be on the safe side.... Show More

it will just run out and make a big mess ,you can use an od rag and soak most of it back out or an old sponge,it wont hurt it none but you,ll continue to leak fluid until it stops pushing it all out,good luck.... Show More

as with overfilling any fluid that is put under any pressure, it can damage seals or gaskets, creating too high a working pressure….... Show More

Its best not to. You can get it out with a baister with a hose on the end, or just the baister if you can get at it.... Show More
