My cat just drank some hot chocolate?
I was reading a book when I noticed my cat drinking some of the hot chocolate I had made. I’m not sure how much she consumed, but I don’t think it was a large amount. It was Swiss Miss hot chocolate, not pure cocoa powder. After I managed to get her away from it, she started to vomit. Should I be concerned, and do you think my cat will be okay?

Chocolate’s not okay for cats, but the concentration in hot chocolate would probably not be high enough to harm her. It’s possible it could be a problem if she’s vomiting, as that is one symptom that is caused by theobromine (a chemical in chocolate) poisoning. However, inducing vomiting is also how a vet would treat a cat that ate chocolate. She is probably just fine; cats vomit often and it is the best thing they can do if they’ve eaten chocolate, but it would not be a bad idea to call your vet to get their professional opinion.
There isn’t so much as a drop of real chocolate in that cup. That cat is probably throwing up from the sugar content.
The cat will be fine; just make sure it’s water dish has fresh water in it and that she is drinking.
She should be fine. If she started to throw up that’s good because she is getting it out of her system. I would call your vet just to be sure but I’m almost positive this isn’t anything too serious.
cats can have some chocolate but not alot you see dogs wont die from one m&m same with cat i am not kidding this happened to my cat she didnt die get sick here is the thing if its baking chocolate thats the worst dont give it to you cats white chocolate is the least harmful then milk chocolate then dark then baking, still dont give your cat chocolate its bad idea this is only if they get into it
